Cardiology Fellow
Corpus Christi Medical Center
Corpus Christi, Texas, United States
Dr. Heriberto Cantu is a cardiovascular disease fellow at Corpus Christi Medical Center. Born into a proud Hispanic family, he has been inspired by the healthcare disparities he has witnessed while growing up in south Texas and along the Texas-Mexico border. While in medical school his passion for cardiology grew, this only intensified during his internal medicine residency.
As a cardiology fellow, he has initiated multiple retrospective analysis with a special interest in heart failure and peripheral arterial disease. In particular he has interest about the prevalence of cardiovascular disease within the Hispanic population and the role of healthcare disparities in hard clinical outcomes.
Dr. Cantu is fluent in both English and Spanish and hopes to pursue and additional fellowship in Intervention Cardiology where he can then provide evidence-based medicine to all of his patients in the south Texas region.
