Ruth Fisher, MBA, is the Vice President of Heart & Vascular Service Line at Cone Health, headquartered in Greensboro, NC. Ruth is accountable for the system wide strategic, operational, and financial leadership of all areas within the Heart and Vascular Service Line including acute care, outpatient clinics and physician offices. For 2 years during the pandemic, Ruth served in the interim role of Vice President of Operations at Moses Cone Hospital, the flagship hospital of Cone Health.
From 2012 to 2019, Ruth was the Vice President of Heart and Vascular Services for Henry Ford Health System located in Detroit, Michigan, where she helped establish the Center for Structural Heart Disease and was a founding member of the Detroit Cardiogenic Shock Initiative and the National Cardiogenic Shock Initiative. Prior to that, she was the Chief Administrative Officer for the Michigan market Ascension Health physician practice organization. Ruth started her career at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak Michigan where she led the development of the first Women’s Heart Center in the state.
Ruth is a Health Management Academy GE Fellow, a member of the Medical Group Management Association and the American College of Healthcare Executives. She has served in volunteer leadership roles in the Detroit and Greensboro American Heart Association Walk, AHA Go Red for Women campaign, and the United Way.
Ruth is a native of Ann Arbor, Michigan where she obtained her undergraduate degree and her master’s degree in business at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. She enjoys cycling, walking, reading, and spending time with her husband and 2 children.
