Doctor Barinder Hansra, more lovingly known as Ricky grew up in the central valley of California. He completed his undergraduate degree in biological sciences at the University of California Davis. He completed medical school at Ross University School of Medicine, after which time, he took his passion for clinical medicine to the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. After completing his internal medicine training, he stayed to complete his cardiology fellowship. During this time, he served as chief cardiology fellow and continued to develop clinical interest in cardiac critical care and cardio-obstetrics. He completed his critical care fellowship at Stanford University. He is currently an assistant professorof medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His clinical interest include working in the CICU where he enjoyed taking care of patients with cardiogenic shock, life-threatening arrythmias, and acute coronary syndromes. He also worked in the cardio-thoracic intensive care unit with patients who have had heart or lung transplants, required ECMO, and many other post-operative patients. He continues to be a champion of education – serving as an APD for the Vanderbilt Cardiology Fellowship.
