I’m currently a PGY-2 Internal Medicine resident at DHR Health, working hard toward my dream of specializing in gastroenterology. Growing up in Jordan as part of a middle-class family of five, I’m proud to be the first doctor in my family. My path to medicine hasn’t been a straight line—it’s been a journey filled with adventures and challenges that gave me a deep commitment to patient care, health equity, serving underserved communities, and last but not least values diversity in medicine, so that I can serve as a liason and mentor for under-represented minority students as they also push outside their boundaries to become physicians.
I earned my medical degree back home in Jordan, where I fell in love with the art of medicine. Gastroenterology has always fascinated me, and I’m excited to pursue a fellowship in the field. What draws me most is advanced endoscopy, where I can combine my love for intricate procedures with the thrill of solving complex diagnostic puzzles.
When I’m not in the hospital, you’ll likely find me at the gym. I’m passionate about weightlifting and have recently started diving into martial arts, like boxing and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. It’s a great way to stay active and clear my mind. I’ve also discovered a new hobby that’s quickly becoming a favorite: cooking. There’s something incredibly satisfying about creating a meal from scratch and sharing it with others.
My journey has taught me the value of resilience, curiosity, and compassion—qualities I try to bring to my work every day. I’m excited to keep growing as a physician and to make a meaningful impact in the lives of my patients and the field of medicine.
