Dr Khaled Chatila MD is an Associate professor of medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). He earned his medical degree from the American University of Beirut. He Then joined Baylor college of medicine for postdoctoral research fellowship in myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury. After that he completed residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He then pursued general cardiology and Advanced heart failure and transplant fellowships at the University of Lousiville in Kentucky. He then joined the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) where he has been a core academic faculty in the division of cardiology for over ten years.
Dr Chatila serves as the program director of the advanced heart failure and transplant fellowship program as well as the associate program director for internal medicine residency program. He also serves as core faculty in the general cardiology fellowship program.
Dr Chatila has demonstarted excellence as a clinciian educator and has won multiple awards including:

-UTMB Internal Medicine subspecialty Teaching Faculty of the year award 2021
-Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award UTMB John P. McGovern Academy of Oslerian Medicine 2022

-Heart Failure Faculty of the year award 2024
His passion is to be involved in educating future generations of physicians and enjoys working with medical students, residents and fellows.
