Cezar Iliescu, MD, FACC, FSCAI, is an interventional cardiologist with a focus on vascular biology in cancer patients, endovascular treatment of chronic thrombocytopenia, physiologic assessment of coronary stenosis, carcinoid heart disease and the treatment of radiation-induced cardiovascular disease. He is a professor in the Department of Cardiology, Division of Internal Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and an Professor at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Dr. Iliescu completed his MD at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Carol Davila" in Bucharest and has completed extensive postgraduate training, including clinical fellowships in interventional cardiology and cardiology at the University of Texas-Houston. He also serves as the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at MD Anderson. His clinical interests include vascular biology in cancer, endovascular treatments in patients with thrombocytopenia, carcinoid heart disease, stress induced cardiomyopathy (Takotsubo), AI role in patients with cancer and heart disease.
