Sachin Kumar, MD, is an interventional cardiologist. He earned his medical degree in 2003 from Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in India. He practiced in the United Kingdom before relocating to the United States.
He completed his advanced cardiology training through fellowships at the University of Arizona, Cleveland Clinic, and Case Western Reserve University. He specializes in heart disease, interventional and structural cardiology, heart failure, and transplantation.
Dr. Kumar is an associate professor with McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. His clinical interests include complex coronary interventions, left main interventions, percutaneous mechanical circulatory support, and structural heart disease. His research interests include clinical trials and outcome-based research in heart failure, cardiometabolic disease, and valvular heart disease.
He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and Society of Coronary Angiography and Interventions. Dr. Kumar serves on numerous institutional and national committees. He’s committed to medical research and engaged in many reputed multicenter clinical trials as a principal investigator.
Dr. Kumar has published over 50 original articles and book chapters in a variety of prestigious medical journals. He believes in treating each patient like his own family and takes pride in establishing effective communication with his patients. He resides in Houston with his wife and two kids. He enjoys listening to music and cooking in his spare time.
