Shashank S. Sinha, MD, MSc, FACC, FAHA, FHFSA, is an Advanced Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support, and Transplant Cardiologist at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, where he serves as Medical Director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and Director of the Cardiovascular Critical Care Research Program. He is also an Assistant Professor of Medical Education at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Dr. Sinha is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.
With a strong clinical and scientific interest in improving the quality of care for patients with cardiac critical illness, Dr. Sinha has authored over 100 publications in leading journals such as JAMA Internal Medicine, JACC, and Circulation. He serves as Principal Investigator for the Cardiogenic Shock Working Group and the Critical Care Cardiology Trials Network.
Dr. Sinha is also the Deputy Editor for the *Journal of Cardiac Failure* and has previously served as Section Editor for the JACC Fellows-in-Training/Early Career Page. He received the 2017 AMA Excellence in Medicine Leadership Award and was inducted into the American College of Cardiology Leadership Academy. Dr. Sinha is a member of the 2024 Presidential Leadership Scholars Program, a prestigious leadership development initiative.
