Dr. Sandeep Nathan is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago Medical Center (UChicago Medicine) where he serves as Medical Director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Co-Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program. He completed his General and Interventional Cardiology fellowships at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukes Medical Center where he subsequently remained on faculty for several years. Concurrently, he completed his Master of Science Degree in Clinical Research from Rush Graduate College through an NIH K-30 funded program. His clinical interests include complex / high-risk percutaneous coronary intervention (CHIP PCI), transradial technique, renal and peripheral vascular intervention, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), renal denervation, cardiogenic shock and percutaneous mechanical circulatory support. His research interests include cardiogenic shock, platelet biology, vascular thrombosis, complex PCI, intravascular imaging, and mechanical circulatory support. Dr. Nathan has authored nearly 150 original scientific manuscripts, textbook chapters, review articles and short scientific communications. He currently serves as an investigator for numerous investigator-initiated and sponsored multicenter clinical trials and as an associate editor of the Journal of the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (JSCAI).
