Dr. Estep is the Division Chair of Cardiovascular Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Florida. He was the past Section Head of Heart Failure and Heart Transplantation and the Medical Director of the Kaufman Center for Heart Failure and Recovery at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio (2018-2022). He holds board certification in advanced heart failure (HF) and transplant and cardiovascular disease. Dr. Estep has authored/coauthored more than 300 manuscripts and/or published abstracts. In addition, he has given over 200 presentations related to heart failure topics at major society meetings and/or at academic institutions. Dr. Estep has served as site PI/or co-PI in over 100 clinical trials. He was the lead national investigator of the Risk Assessment and Comparative Effectiveness of Left Ventricular Assist Device and Medical Management in Ambulatory Heart Failure Patients (ROADMAP) Study. He also served as the Chair for the 2024 American Society of Echocardiography Guidelines and Statement Document that defines the contemporary role of echocardiography to monitor patients supported by left ventricular assist devices. In addition, he served as the National Heart Failure Co-PIs for the Clinical Study of the BioVentrix Revivent TC System for Treatment of Left Ventricular Aneurysms (ALIVE) NCT02931240. He currently serves as a National Co-PI for Trial to Evaluate Safety And Effectiveness of Mechanical Circulatory Support in Patients with Advancing Heart Failure (TEAM-HF) , an international CardioMEMs and HM3 trial support by Abbott and he serves as the Steering Committee Chair for DRAIN HF: Diuretics Alone vs. Aortix Endovascular Device for Acute Heart Failure DRAIN-HF supported by Procyrion. His primary goal is to help lead systems of care and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high quality of care coupled with innovation in research and education.
